Developers of Design and Manufacturing Simulation Software |
| FEM Engineering, located in Los Angeles, is an engineering company that specializes in
the development and marketing of design, analysis and manufacturing software packages. The
scientists at FEM Engineering have expertise in mechanical, manufacturing, structural,
civil, material, and chemical engineering as well as computer science and mathematics. Our
graphics team has extensive research and development experience in user interfaces, CAD
integration, pre-and-post processors and data visualization. Our engineering software
development covers Finite Element Analysis (FEA), graphics including pre-and-post
processors, and integration into existing CAD interfaces. We have worked with companies in
such diverse fields as aerospace, automotive, medical, and construction. The companys core technology is based upon the proprietary, non-linear FEA Software. We have developed two FEA packages, which have been commercially marketed to a wide range of markets. From the start, our goal has been to develop a suite of software packages for design, analysis and manufacturing simulation applications. We first developed our FEA package because our scientists had discoveries in composites and other complex materials from their Ph.D. programs and subsequently during their teaching and industrial consulting, which gave our FEA package clear competitive advantages. The FEA development process also provided specific technologies, which we needed, for our manufacturing related simulation packages. By 1993, the opportunity presented itself to bid on the Metal Forming Simulation project with Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) as the prime contractor. NGC considered all the potential FEA companies and selected us based upon our proven technical and system development capabilities. The project resulted in development of our metal forming simulation package, FemForm. Due to the success of the project, the sponsor, Air Force Manufacturing Technology Directorate, extended the funding for development of additional software to cover other areas of the sheet metal part manufacturing areas. Later, the Air Force Man-Tech awarded us a separate project to develop the tooling design software, FemTool, for the sheet metal parts. Our sheet metal products, FemForm and FemTool software packages, can be used in a wide variety of manufacturing and industrial applications where engineers and industrial designers need to produce accurate tooling and parts in a uniform, consistent method with minimum process time and low rework rates. Major engineering magazines have placed our products on their covers and/or published articles recongnizing cutting edge capabilities of our packages. |
